An old girlfriend of mine introduced me to Frank Turner and also took me to several of his shows in Norwich, in fact I even ended up interviewing him for this blog back in 2008. However he had drifted off my radar over time, but on the Friday afternoon at Latitude he smashed his way back in.

Back this year with a new album, The Undefeated, which is a melodic punk album, which he brought five songs to the sun baked Latitude crowd. Including the fantastic Letters, which he told the crowd was about an old pen pal he had who he drifted apart from, until the song was released and she realised it was about her and got back in touch.
He would dip into his folk rock past with a couple of solo acoustic versions of The Way I tend to Be and The Ballad Of Me And My Friends. Also played fan favourite Photosynthesis later in the set, which soon has the old fans (and quickly the new fans) singing the “And I Won’t sit down, and I won’t shut up…” lines from the chorus.
He would continue the set with mostly fully punk versions of new and old songs, with the crowd loving every minute, including Turner’s brief trip into the crowd surfing on top of the crowds hands.
Needless to say his music will have dived back into rotation for me, keep on rockin Frank!
