Fourteen years to the day that I last saw Bombay Bicycle Club, on an NME Awards Tour in 2010 at the UEA in Norwich, they took to the stage at the Corn Exchange in Cambridge. Now all grown up with a glorious stage set up, confetti cannons and plenty of people helping deliver a fantastic live performance, such as vocalist Olive Jones.
Opening with Just a Little More Time off of My Big Day, felt like a perfect intro to the evening, then with six studio albums (and a new EP on the way this month) to pull tracks from to perform, they did not disappoint fans, playing the big hits from every album.
Frontman Jack Steadman playing the whole night with a big grin on his face, enjoying every moment of the show, as much as when the crowd is singing along to tracks like Luna, I Want To Be Your Only Pet, a beautiful solo acoustic version of Dust On The Ground, and even a cover of Lose You To Love Me by Selena Gomez.
They finished the main set with Shuffle from A Different Kind Of Fix, before coming back shortly after for an encore of Turn The World On and Always Like This (which was their penultimate song back in 2010).
